@kaz_phd This has been my favorite book since I was barely able to read and why I still have a seven year old's fascination with pirates. I found a cool hard cover edition with a few small illustrations in a used book store a few years ago and it was the best surprise in a long time.

I'm not sure I'll be able to finish reading Treasure Island.
No disrespect to a book written nearly 150 years ago, but I'm finding it hard to get through.
I can see how and why it was so influential, and it's only 200 pages, but I find myself not caring what happens next.

@kaz_phd "Kaz calls Tolkien a hack. Says his lore sucks." Silmarillion was one of the most painful things I've read. Hated it. It actually made me like the main trilogy a little less for a while. I like the show. Best part is that elves kinda suck instead of being perfect all the time.

For example, I'm on the penultimate episode of season 2 of The Rings of Power. I haven't read the Silmarillion in a long time. My lore of the Legendarium is a bit thin.
But I never clocked the idea that Galadriel and Sauron had feelings for each other.

@kaz_phd Destiny 3 would have been a great idea long ago. Rather than gut so much of the stuff from early D2 and all seasonal stuff. Start D3 around Beyond Light and D2 gets to stay whole like the first game.

Because firing the team who made that expansion, exposing capitalist CEO greed, & spreading too thin into other canceled games really supports the idea of a new game/title.
Can't even experiment enough with the "episodic" model to make it fresh, but sure, a new game will do it.

I don’t get how some people are SO opposed to Destiny 3. Bungie just released arguably the greatest expansion ever… and the game immediately plummeted to all-time lows and content creators are starting to quit. We are losing players faster than ever. Clearly, D2 isn’t working.

@kaz_phd I don't consider Kilmers Holliday to be "cold." Not in general, at least. I imagine your guy has a quieter, reserved guy that hangs back with a cigarette and a couple one liners or something. But will excitedly discuss those tickets at length if asked.

A skill I'm working on is "finding my voice" for roleplaying games.
I'm good at backstory, arc development, depth, but I'm not good at "in the moment" personality traits and vibe.

@spoonscribbles I did not know, thanks. It's just that I have very sensitive teeth, always need more than they think. Plus, I'm at the tail end of getting some major work done. Two jaw surgeries, a few years of braces, 5 sets of crowns, final appointment in a few weeks!

Had some more crowns put in today. Ended up needing 3 rounds of anesthesia to get though it, and my neck, teeth, and gums are still sore.
So yeah, probably no stream tonight.

@kaz_phd You probably know this already but I have learned that Vitamin C makes dental anesthesia less effective whereas antacids like TUMS improve the effectiveness. I learned this by taking an EmergenC supplement the morning of an appointment to get a filling and it three shots...

Good news: I found something that will greatly help design and advance a personal art project of mine.
Bad news: I essentially have to "remake" everything in the new format.
