@spoopyone But here, you’re elevating Aeris’s death over Zack’s death and the several times Cloud almost loses Tifa. I think they all weigh on him equally and contribute to his overall experience with loss as a character

Like let’s be real again, this CANT be about tifa OR zack aswell!! Let’s read and comprehend that this whole verse is talking about one person, a person cloud wants to smile once more, a person he wants to see the truth hidden behind their tears.. ⬇️

The 2nd chorus begs the person to show their smile once more so he can see the truth behind their tears. Personally, I can’t currently recall any instance where Zack or Aeris cry toward Cloud, but Tifa cries to Cloud in her Remake resolution scene.

@AnatoneRich True, and my argument is that it is exclusive to her and cannot be about anyone else. Because cloud didn’t save tifa in the ls, and he isn’t aware of zacks revival, his mother is already dead. But he did parry sephiroths sword “This time I’ll never let you go”.

@spoopyone The difference in opinion and interpretation should (hopefully) lead to further debate and discussion that will provide further insight for each person. You’ll notice that I never dismissed anyone’s Aeris-centered reading—not once. I just said it wasn’t *exclusive* to her

@AnatoneRich What is a fact tho, is that it was actually cut too early, making the people who said it was cut too early correct, but the director, will never answer the question if asked, to keep the mystery, to keep the people talking. So in the end, there is a correct answer.

@AnatoneRich Does it mean whoever says it’s timed perfectly is correct? Or the who says it’s too early is correct? Well it’s neither, the director keeps the floor open for people to make their own guess.

@AnatoneRich Wants a retry, the one who begs to fix his past mistakes, the ones made in OG, and one of them isn’t tifa in the lifestream

@AnatoneRich And if not for aeriths actual death eclipsing over tifas near death incident. This cancels the so called foreshadowing, and keeps hollow for remake, and I say it’s for remake because it’s the end of OG clouds journey, and the start of remake clouds journey, the one who -

@AnatoneRich To me the lyrics are as clear and cut as NPTKs lyrics, that they are both referencing each other. Whereas in NPTK, it’s clear aerith is talking about more than just cloud. But that isn’t apparent for hollow.

@AnatoneRich My question is, can you try and interpret the song as fully from clouds POV to aerith? The devs will never come out and say it on their own, that this song is about one person in general, but can you see why the why some think it’s solely aerith?

@AnatoneRich Specially when it’s ultra clear why they chose that song for season 1

@AnatoneRich I wouldn’t relate a game trilogy to an opera. Let’s relate it a series, you wouldn’t keep the theme song for season 1,on season 2, because there’s a scene in season 2 that references the theme song for 1. Knowing full well season 1 song thematically matches season 1 perfectly

@AnatoneRich Zack, barret, Marlene, and red to save her. He does almost lose tifa in those 3 times yes, but that is not what the story is focusing on, that’s not what the song or cloud focuses on. There is reason for all the foreshadowing, and a reason this is remakes song

@AnatoneRich I will never understand the tifa point and will always call it a reach because yes, she’s alive. This song, again, is made for remake cloud, who has been through OG, who has lost aerith, who is getting plagued in remake by visions of her dying, who is also told by-

@AnatoneRich I do a lot of cinematic analysis, and for aerith specifically, she gets a spotlight for most of her scenes, making her shine, her being a white mage, her magic, making her literally shine, she also known as the most smiley one, but I won’t get into the smiles, everyone smiles.

@AnatoneRich Why is the song put in remake? In my opinion? Because it’s a song about cloud, plagued by visions of a certain person dying, and that certain person foreshadows their own death, dark mysteries lurking beneath, wanting to see the truth hidden inside her tears.

@spoopyone I said “enjoy part 3” as a courteous way of saying “take care—I doubt we’ll engage again in conversation, but be well” to another FF7 fan. I’m sorry that polite behavior is so rare on Twitter that it confused you but it was sincere
