The Smalltooth sand tiger is the perfect example of how appearances are deceiving. At first sight, a 4-foot-tall animal full of sharp teeth. The reality is that all they transmit is peace and a feeling of being in front of a prehistoric animal. @felipe_ravina

Ever wondered where the poster designs came from for big budget movies? @Disney the little mermaid boffins appear to have just mashed some google images together for their background

A beautifully photogenic pteropod (sea butterfly). Hard to wrap your head around the fact that this is technically a type of snail.

Portrait mode. The face of the common (weedy) #seadragon, Phyllopteryx taeniolatus, doesn’t need any makeup as it has some spectacular natural patterns and coloration. Check out that hairstyle! No wonder it is a favorite species of the #greatsouthernreef

We all know that @FishGuyKai's favorite butterflyfish genus is Hemitaurichthys, and I found a particularly naughty and dirty H. zoster yesterday, so this one is for you Kai! 🤣

These #cisco are hungry! With declining native zooplankton in the #greatlakes (thanks mussels!) these #lakemichigan cisco have adapted to eat invasive zooplankton and small fish like these #alewives. Cisco were once almost totally gone from Lake MI -amazing to see them rebounding
