When a non-profit which claims to solve all problems is jonesing for the money it’s because they intend to get it. This money should go to things that benefit the citizenry - not for aldermen to get theirs. Roads, water, downtown. This is a nonsense program.

Thank you, City of St. Louis! BB153 passed out of the HUDZ committee with $34 Million going to early childhood education. Next, it will go to a full vote at the Board of Aldermen meeting on February 7.

There are gadflys and then there's Tom Sullivan. For 40 years he has been a "pebble in the shoe" of the myriad local governing boards, tin pot tyrants, and petty pilferers who have peppered our metro political landscape. I marvel at his tenacity. His many critics roll their eyes but I think our region owes him a gigantic debt a gratitude.
