@janelloween THIS. i keep seeing darla's "amazing" plot being brought up when the show quite literally equates her worth and goodness to being a mother. and faith's redemption, on top of being too quick, centers angel as the knight in shining armor. i just don't see what they see

@spuffyologies even the female characters it arguably does well by, there's something off-putting about how Faith becomes this meek girl who just needs the support of a big, strong man, or how Darla can only become worthy by dying in childbirth.
I can't even get into how they treat Buffy.

@istrias15336 actually, it LOOKED more mature to the emotionally constipated. you need maturity to be spoon-fed to you. it's not more mature than the show doing a character study on depression which, ironically, is deemed too dark because you're incapable of comprehending emotional nuance.

@Shevpche34 i explain my point about angel being male-led much better right after the tweet you're replying to. and i think i'm contemplative enough. there's people in my mentions saying s6 is terrible because it's "demeaning" towards buffy by giving her.... depression. i'll be alright.
