As a history teacher, this was a once-in-a-lifetime moment… One of my students is a descendant of Alexander Hamilton…SERIOUSLY! Her grandfather has preserved and inherited relics from previous generations of Hamiltons, and last week I was invited to his home to see them. The first picture is of him holding a replica of Hamilton’s dueling pistol. The second is of a mourning ring that Eliza Hamilton wore around her neck for 50 years after her husband’s death. Inside the ring is a strand of Hamilton’s hair. The third is a Society of the Cincinnati badge that George Washington himself gave to Hamilton. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
