@chrisadonnelly Appropriate framing doesn't create enough soundbites to make the switchboard go boogaloo. You need callers and controversy to be the "biggest show in the country".

“The loyalist people’s being stroked again.” It is shameful that a narrative, constructed on ignorance & prejudice, is being not simply peddled but given oxygen due to the inappropriate framing of a story that *should* be about a potential concert venue vs more sport provision.

Big night for the big DOC - a documentary feature on national TV Daniel O’Connell doesn’t command many headlines in Ireland these days - but imo he should command your respect He lifted Ireland off its knees after the 1798 rebellion He gave us a modicum of justice & equality with Catholic Emancipation, through a grassroots mobilisation that inspired the world. Daniel taught the world how to ask for equality - Martin Luther King & Gandhi were listening He was an early advocate of black & jewish rights, when they had few champions He was an imperfect human, but an undeniable hero. A fighter for a cause he could just as easily have ignored, as many of lesser station did before him In death, he was dealt a cruel blow - his final wishes were unintentionally not honoured, by error and incompetence Find the heart of Daniel #Roma Ireland loves you - un favore per favore?

Daniel O'Connell - Born 250 years ago today While many Irish men & women changed Ireland, only 1 changed the world But a great mystery survives him - his heart is missing! I outlined the curious case of the missing heart to Harry Manning and RTE (1) rte.ie/news/ireland/2…

@BelfastBooks @PogoSkyBlues42 With respect, don't you think the attitude of "we've done more than enough" is a bit condescending. It gives the impression you don't think any more should be done by fans or IFA to make it more NI and less Ulster.

@PogoSkyBlues42 By and large they won’t come no matter what you do. We’re a region formed from partition and have done more than enough to be welcoming to people with an Irish identity.

Is it just me or do most of the current generation of Northern Ireland fans look like they’d equally be at home at Ravenspan watching the rugger?

@spurgle5 @McCarthygangan @maxvayshia True, Brentford joined the Premier League in 2021 and haven't been relegated yet. Similarly, clubs like Brighton (since 2017) and Wolves (since 2018) share that status, though the classic "never relegated" list refers to the six founding members who've stayed since 1992.

@McCarthygangan @maxvayshia Actually, there are six clubs that have never been relegated from the Premier League since its 1992 inception: Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur. If meaning the historical top flight, none have never been relegated.

The only reason that Timothy Gaston of the TUV is on @BBCTalkback is to create more division. The editors know that he represents a tiny minority of the population, but yet again the BBC gives that minority £1000s worth of OUR airtime!
