(كيف تستعد لمقابلة العمل) ، قدمها الفاضل/ خلف بن سعيد المعمري، أخصائي أول في التحسين المستمر بشركة فالي عُمان للتكوير، والتي نظمتها الدكتورة دلال الخاطري ضمن إطار مادة الخطابة العامة، في سياق ربط الجانب النظري بالتطبيقات العملية في بيئة العمل. هدفت الورشة إلى تزويد الطلبة بالمهارات الأساسية للاستعداد لمقابلات العمل، بما في ذلك بناء الثقة بالنفس، وتطوير مهارات العرض الذاتي، وفهم توقعات أصحاب العمل في بيئات العمل التنافسية، مع التركيز على التطبيق العملي لتعزيز جاهزية الطلبة لسوق العمل. "How to Prepare Yourself for a Job Interview," delivered by Mr. Khalaf Said Al Mamari, Senior Continuous Improvement Specialist at Vale Oman Pelletizing Company, and organized by Dr. Dalal Al-Khatri as part of the Public Speaking course, in alignment with bridging theoretical knowledge and practical applications in the workplace. The workshop aimed to equip students with essential job interview skills, including building confidence, enhancing self-presentation, and understanding employer expectations, while emphasizing practical approaches to excel in professional interviews.

The workshop highlighted the importance of emotional intelligence in modern workplaces, focusing on its role in strengthening communication, fostering professional relationships, and enhancing leadership and decision-making skills for overall personal and professional success.

نظمت كلية الاقتصاد والعلوم السياسية ممثلةً بـ قسم إدارة العمليات، ندوة علمية لطلبة مساق لتفاوض وإدارة العقود وعلاقات المورّدين الذي تُدرّسه الدكتورة زينب البلوشي. جاءت الحلقة بعنوان "أساسيات المناقصات والعقود وأوامر الشراء: الإجراءات والتطبيق"، وقدّمها الدكتور حماد الناصري، مهندس أول بدائرة المشاريع والصيانة بجامعة السلطان قابوس. وركّزت الجلسة على أهمية إلمام الطلبة بمواصفات وإجراءات مجلس المناقصات العُماني وفهم آليات الطرح والترسية وإدارة العقود، لما لذلك من دور أساسي في إعداد كوادر قادرة على التعامل مع المشاريع الحكومية بكفاءة. كما هدفت الندوة إلى تعزيز وعي الطلبة بأهمية المحتوى المحلي ودوره في دعم الاقتصاد الوطني، وتزويدهم بالمعرفة العملية التي تساعدهم على فهم بيئة الأعمال والمشتريات الحكومية في السلطنة. وتأتي هذه المبادرة تأكيدًا على التزام الكلية بإثراء التجربة التعليمية من خلال الاستفادة من الخبرات الميدانية، وتمكين الطلبة بالمعارف والمهارات التي تؤهلهم للتميّز في سوق العمل. The College of Economics and Political Science, represented by the Department of Operations Management, organized a scientific seminar for students enrolled in the course Negotiation, Contract Management, and Supplier Relations, taught by Dr. Zainab Al-Balushi. The seminar aimed to strengthen the practical dimension of the course and connect academic knowledge with real-world practices in Oman. The session, titled “Fundamentals of Tenders, Contracts, and Purchase Orders: Procedures and Applications,”was delivered by Dr. Hammad Al-Nasiri, Senior Engineer at the Projects and Maintenance Department at Sultan Qaboos University. The seminar highlighted the importance of students’ understanding of Omani Tender Board specifications and procedures, including tendering processes, evaluation, and contract award practices, which are essential for preparing graduates to effectively engage with government projects. The seminar also emphasized the role of local content in supporting the national economy and enhancing students’ awareness of procurement practices within the Sultanate. This initiative reflects the College’s commitment to enriching the learning experience through real-world expertise and equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the labor market.

سعياً إلى ربط المفاهيم النظرية بالتجارب العملية الواقعية، استضافت الكلية مجموعة من المتحدثين ضمن مقرر التسويق الاجتماعي، وذلك بتنظيم وإشراف د. مروة الهنائي، أستاذة المقرر؛ حيث استعرض الضيوف نماذج من الحملات المجتمعية المنفذة في سلطنة عُمان." استضافت الجلسة الدكتورة إيمان الهنائي، رئيسة الحملة الوطنية “صحتكم تهمنا” التابعه للمديرية العامة لمستشفى خولة ، حيث قدمت عرضاً حول أهداف الحملة واستراتيجياتها والجهود المبذولة لتعزيز السلوكيات الصحية الإيجابية في المجتمع. كما قدّم الأستاذ سليمان البندري، من شركة العلامة، عرضاً مرئياً حول مبادرة «خطوة للخير»، مسلطاً الضوء على أهمية الشراكات الاستراتيجية بين المؤسسات في دعم المشاريع المجتمعية المستدامة وتعظيم أثرها الإيجابي على المجتمع وقد أتاحت هذه الجلسة للطلبة فرصة للتعرف على تجارب واقعية للحملات المجتمعية وفهم كيفية تصميم وتنفيذ المبادرات المختلفة، بالإضافة إلى إدراك أهمية التعاون والتواصل الاستراتيجي في معالجة القضايا المجتمعية In an effort to bridge theoretical concepts with real-world practical experiences, the College hosted a group of guest speakers as part of the Social Marketing course, organized by the course instructor, Dr. Marwa Al-Hinai. The guests presented models of community campaigns implemented within the Sultanate of Oman. The session hosted Dr.Eman Al-Hinai, Head of the "Your Health Matters" national campaign under the Directorate General of Khoula Hospital. She delivered a presentation on the campaign's objectives, strategies, and the ongoing efforts to promote positive health behaviors within the community. Additionally, Mr. Sulaiman Al-Bandari from Al-Alama Marketing addressed the audience with a visual presentation on the "Step for Good" initiative. His talk highlighted the significance of strategic partnerships between organizations in supporting sustainable community projects and maximizing their positive social impact. This session provided students with a valuable opportunity to explore real-life case studies of social campaigns, understand the intricacies of designing and implementing various initiatives, and recognize the vital role of cooperation and strategic communication in addressing societal issues.

كلية الاقتصاد والعلوم السياسية تستضيف خبيرًا لمناقشة تطوير المحتوى المحلي استضافت كلية الاقتصاد والعلوم السياسية بجامعة السلطان قابوس السيد كريس ماكدونالد في لقاء مع طلبة برنامج الماجستير المسجلين في مقرر ICVD6002 – ممارسات تطوير المحتوى المحلي الذي يقدمه الدكتور أحمد الحجري. وخلال اللقاء، استعرض الضيف تجربة قطاع النفط والغاز في تطبيق برنامج القيمة المحلية المضافة (ICV) في سلطنة عُمان، مسلطًا الضوء على أهمية التعاون بين الجهات الحكومية والشركات في تطوير سلاسل التوريد المحلية وبناء القدرات الوطنية وتعزيز القيمة الاقتصادية داخل السلطنة. كما أكد على أهمية بناء منظومة متكاملة (Ecosystem) تدعم استدامة تطبيق برامج المحتوى المحلي، من خلال تعزيز التعاون بين الجهات الحكومية والقطاع الخاص والموردين المحليين. وتناول اللقاء أيضًا أبرز التحديات وعوامل النجاح والدروس المستفادة من تجربة القطاع، وما يمكن أن تقدمه هذه التجربة من نماذج يمكن الاستفادة منها في قطاعات اقتصادية أخرى. CEPS Hosts Industry Expert to Discuss Local Content Development The College of Economics and Political Science (CEPS) at Sultan Qaboos University hosted Mr. Chris Macdonald for a guest session with MBA students enrolled in ICVD6002 – Local Content Development Practices, delivered by Dr. Ahmed Alhajri. During the session, Mr. Macdonald shared insights from the Oil and Gas sector’s collaborative approach to implementing In-Country Value (ICV) in Oman. He highlighted how government institutions and companies worked together to develop local supply chains, build national capabilities, and create sustainable economic value. A key message from the discussion was the importance of establishing a strong ecosystem to sustain local content implementation, including collaboration among government entities, industry players, and local suppliers. The session also explored key challenges, success factors, and lessons learned, providing students with practical insights into how similar approaches can be applied across other sectors of the economy. This engagement reflects CEPS’ commitment to connecting academic learning with real-world industry experience in support of Oman Vision 2040.

تعرب كلية الاقتصاد والعلوم السياسية عن بالغ حزنها وصادق تعازيها في وفاة الدكتور جيمس راجاسيكار، أستاذ مشارك في الإدارة، والذي عمل في جامعة السلطان قابوس خلال الفترة من 2003 إلى 2021. وقد كرّس الدكتور راجاسيكار سنواتٍ طويلة من الخدمة المتميزة للكلية، وأسهم إسهاماتٍ قيمة في مجالات التدريس والبحث العلمي والتطوير الأكاديمي. وكان زميلًا محل تقدير واسع، ومعلّمًا مخلصًا، عُرف بمهنية عالية ونزاهة وأخلاق رفيعة، مما أكسبه احترام زملائه وتقدير طلبته. وتتقدم الكلية بأصدق التعازي والمواساة إلى أسرته وأصدقائه وزملائه وطلبته، راجين لهم الصبر والسلوان في هذا المصاب الجلل. The College of Economics and Political Science expresses its profound sorrow and sincere condolences on the passing of Dr. James Rajasekar, Associate Professor of Management, who served at Sultan Qaboos University from 2003 to 2021. Dr. Rajasekar dedicated many years of distinguished service to the College, making significant contributions to teaching, research, and academic development. He was a respected colleague and a committed educator whose professionalism, integrity, and character earned him the admiration of colleagues and students alike. The College extends its deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and former students. We pray that they are granted strength, patience, and comfort during this difficult time.

قدمت مكتبة كلية الإقتصاد والعلوم السياسية ورشة عن برنامج التوثيق المندلي، والتي قدمتها د.أصيلة الهنائي. حضر الورشة عدد من الباحثين والمهتمين في البحث العلمي. تخلل الورشة تساؤلات الباحثين وأبدوا إعجابهم بالبرنامج ودوره في تسهيل التوثيق في الكتابة العلمية. The College of Economics and Political Science Library presented a workshop on the Mendeley citation program, delivered by Dr. Aseela Al-Hinaai. A number of researchers and those who are interested in scientific research attended the workshop. The researchers asked questions and expressed their appreciation for the program and its role in facilitating citation in scientific writing.

استضافت كلية الاقتصاد والعلوم السياسية الأستاذ طلال بن درويش السعدي، مدير إعداد الخطط التنموية بوزارة الاقتصاد، كضيف متحدث ضمن أحد مقررات برنامج الماجستير في إدارة الأعمال والمتخصص في المحتوى المحلي وتنفيذ السياسات. تناولت المحاضرة الخطة الخمسية الحادية عشرة (2026–2030) ودورها في ترجمة مستهدفات رؤية عُمان 2040 إلى برامج تنفيذية تعزز التنويع الاقتصادي والمحتوى المحلي والاستدامة. تم تنظيم المحاضرة وإدارتها من قبل الدكتور أحمد الحجري. The College of Economics and Political Sciences welcomed Mr. Talal Darwish Al Saadi, Director of Development Plans Preparation at the Ministry of Economy, as a guest speaker for an MBA course on Local Content Development and Policy Implementation. During the lecture, Mr. Al Saadi discussed Oman’s Eleventh Five-Year Development Plan (2026–2030) and its role in translating Oman Vision 2040 into actionable programs that advance economic diversification, strengthen local content, and promote sustainable development. The guest lecture was organized and facilitated by Dr. Ahmed Alhajri.
