In June 1941, the Germans invaded Soviet territory. Just 2 days later, they occupied Vilna #OTD 24 June 1941. 60,000 Jews lived in Vilna at the time. The community, which had flourished for hundreds of years was decimated. I write about this tragic loss in the novel I AM JUDEN.
