The murti and the individuals who had been captured were turned over to the Sherpur police station. The murti was discovered by Abul Bashar, one of the arrested, while excavating a pond in Amain village, Kusumbi Union of Sherpur. Later, while attempting to take it overseas, Abul Bashar concealed it under the floor of a tin-shed cottage close to the pond.
