I've never met a single Indian person that didn't consume dairy though? Milk and milk products are a major part of the cuisine, especially for the vegetarians.

It's also crazy how 70% of the world is actually lactose intolerant Humans were never supposed to actually consume milk and lactose in general but our ancestors kept drinking it so much they buildt up tolerance, we are the weird ones on a global scale

Lactose intolerance rises significantly the further south you go in India, right? I imagine also that consuming it in the form of ghee & yoghurt and paneer might mitigate some of the intolerance.
My Tamil mother in law seems to have developed lactose intolerance with age, although she previously lived mostly in Malaysia, and didn’t drink a lot of milk until coming to Australia.
