Dude, running #llamacpp with Brave search #MCP is like running your own Google or PPX. One thought is now persisting in my head - why should I ever google something?

If you're still team #JetBrains, there is a pretty big thing hidden in their new #MCP - structural refactoring tool(s). The agent can ask IDE to rename a symbol instead of naïvely searching and replacing text in the source code

#Apple’s announcment of M5 Pro/Max #MacBook plays it safe. The same RAM configurations as last time, zero risks. And no 64GB option for the Air is a major letdown 😢

<sarcasm>A case against tests in your project</> Remember the “TailwinCSS drama” from January? Now similar thing happened to #NextJS - Cloudflare took their tests suite and re-created secret sauce of Vercel with AI - their deployment framework. blog.cloudflare.com/vinext/

Two crazy terminal shortcuts that make no sense to me: 1. ZZ write to disk and quit Vim. 2. ~. (yes, tilda then dot) end SSH connection. I'm using them extensively every day.

Months ago, I introduced a wrapper script for llama-server to make managing a large number of arguments easier. With introduction of router mode, this project became unnecessary - now I only manage a single .ini config file and can select a model from a dropdown. Much simpler!

Call me an #Apple sheep, but they design laptops so that someone might actually open them and be amazed too. The internals are a work of art. Many Windows notebooks look like the factory dropped a box of parts and closed the lid (the latest ASUS Zenbook DUO in the first photo)

@jiriknesl I dream about a (general/public) web platform which is resistant to the abovementioned issues.

@srigi On .onion? Who is doing Monero is also likely open to use Tor.

I wonder why there is still no Monero based prediction market. Imagine the possibilities.

The single most useful update to #VSCode has finally arrived. I absolutely hate these automatic hover popups that appear when I move the mouse over the code.

@Yampeleg How can you write these two sentences together? > 1. AI datacenters use NO water. NONE. ZERO. > 2. They pull water in. Also, it looks like you have no experience with water-cooled systems, NONE. ZERO. Do you really think that 250kW server rack won't need maintenance of cooling?

AI datacenters use NO water. NONE. ZERO. - They pull water in. - Cool the computers. - Then immediately pump it out back to the same source. NO loss. NO “consumption”. NO impact. “AI draining water” is pure fiction.
Andy Masley@AndyMasley

This is the single most massive factual error in a major book I've ever personally noticed on my own, and I think I'm the first person to notice it? Empire of AI asserts that a data center is using 1000x as much water as a city. In reality, it's 22% of the city's water.

For some unknown reason, I woke up with an urge to download the most valuable YouTube videos from my "Likes" playlist. Some itch at the back of the head, that I must have an offline backup before they disappear from the Internet.

Aren't people ashamed of sharing electronics schematics like this: This "new wave" of hobby hardware enthusiasts makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time.

@HonzaPoboril Not that much. I will not use it on things like Gmail. Those YT likes categorization isn't dangerous either, it is not reading from the comment section.

I'm enjoying Perplexity's #Comet browser on chore tasks like: - Go through my liked videos on YouTube and put them into an appropriate playlist, then unlike them. Start with the first 20 - Go through my Shazamed tracks from last Friday, and put them in a new Spotify playlist
