I love Sam Seder because he's just a government nerd. He knows the ins and outs of the most boring specifics of government, to the topical ones, and is very pragmatic about it. It's like getting emotional and angry at a calculator for just giving you the correct answer.

From a cultural standpoint, Star Wars arguably overshadows any other franchise. Everyone knows who Darth Vader is. Everyone knows what a lightsaber is. From a writing standpoint, Dune is better since that’s what inspired Lucas to make Star Wars in the first place. Frank Herbert wrote something truly unique. Without Dune Star Wars doesn’t exist. However, you can’t deny more people know about Star Wars than Dune.

So yeah this franchise and Avatar probably the two biggest modern franchises that I can't wait to just leave modern pop culture. I know for Dune I'm in the extreme minority but hey, that movie should've been exactly up my alley and it didn't hit. What can I say 🙃

I also wasn't such a fan of Chamalet's acting before, that movie made me a certified hater because he started blowing up 😅 there's that scene where he gets a vision of a battle...and his acting is SO awkward man like hopefully he's gotten better since then but jesus

Ugh can't wait for Dune to be over. I went into the first Dune excited because people told me it's like the first couple seasons of Game of Thrones but in space. I was expecting some good politicing. Shit was mid as hell. I really don't get the hype around it. Super overrated.

side with Hux if he tried breaking away. But again Kylo immediately put him in his place with his powers. At that point, it was probably best for the character to die :( sad as it is to say. Without Snoke' hierarchy to keep Kylo and Hux equal, it falls apart.

Hux was a good foil for Kylo and it was fun that he was on equal terms with him simply because of rank, and man once Snoke died I was like there's nothing stopping Kylo from killing him immediately I instantly was worried about that character. No way this fledgling "empire" would

Rian Johnson gutted all the potential for Hux man. I too was excited for the rivalry between Kyli and Hux. But for this to keep going, Snoke needed to stay alive. From the get go of the Sequels, it was clear that Kylo would get redeemed. Disney wasn't going to let Han and Leia's

@Hissterically Nah, JJ set Hux to be a bigger role. With Kylo killing Snoke halfway through TLJ, he robbed Hux of all potential power he could've had. Of course the New Order would bend to the new force user's hostile takeover. TLJ is the movie that broke everything.

The fuck you mean “you wished he had a bigger role”??? Rian literally set it up perfectly for him to become a major villain in IX but YOU relegated him to a weak little spy because you cared about shock value over characterization! It was an open note test and you failed it.
