And now my watch has ended. I’ve worked my final shift at KGAN. One thing I hope people remember about me as I leave these doors: nothing I’ve done over the last 4 years was for the benefit of my bosses, or Sinclair broadcasting, or KGAN itself. I only wanted to serve the viewer as best I could. The Hawkeyes are what’s gonna bring in the bacon in this market, but I wanted to treat every small college game and every high school game, with the same reverence and sanctity as I treated each Hawkeye football game. I still remember the small number of times that a TV crew came to one of my high school events. It was such an absolute thrill, even if you’re in the stands-to know that this game will be on the news that night! That’s the same kind of thrill I was hoping to give every kid, sibling, parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, or whoever might be watching on any given night. I’m so thankful for all of the kind words I’ve received this week. I’m going to miss this area dearly. It’s helped shape who I’ve become these last 4 years, and my only hope now is that there are better things ahead. Farewell, Broadcast Park.

The players and coaches have constantly raved about Carver and the job Iowa does hosting. It’s unusually hot in March. Thankfully: The court is underground and it wasn’t bad. People are making a mountain out of a molehill. To say Carver isn’t meeting standards and codes is dumb.

I’m curious about something. Announcers often talk about Iowa making 2 Final Fours in a row, which is true. But we also made it to 2 National Championship games in a row, which to me is even more impressive. Why is that not mentioned?

Are you spending, any team in the WNBA spending 500K of your cap space for Raven Johnson to come off your bench or 100K-300K for Indya Nivar, Taina Mair type? Raven is still vulnerable on the PnR and flat screens, the W has finishers.

Are you good w/ paying an elite stretch 4 that can't defend a near max, rather than spending 1/2 the price via a draft for the same skillset. Are you good overpaying a backup PG to be solid at POA or drafting it for 1x less the price of the WNBA vet.

@srjohnson007 Generally, I think that's awesome. Which is why I just select chalk all the way. Then I can forget about it and just enjoy the games. I love the big upsets.

My standard, straight chalk bracket strategy so I don't worry about it through the tournament is off to a stupendous start.
