@WilliamShatner It’s beyond insulting. Kirk is the main character of the original series and films, one of my favorite characters of all time, performed brilliantly by Mr Shatner.

@TyLeisher We started Camp Hideout in mid 2020, filmed in October 2021 and it was released in theaters in Sept 2023. Worldwide it will be out Feb 2024, so yes you’re right on. Make sure you spend plenty of time developing a script before you shoot.

A movie takes a long time to go from an idea to a finished film. Here's a rough estimate of how long things take if you're producing: Writing the Script: 4-5 Months Hiring A Director: 2-3 Months Finding A Sales Agent/Distributor: 2-3 Months Casting: 4-5 Months Financing/Closing: 2-3 Months Preproduction: 1-2 Months Production: 1 Month Post-Production: 6-9 Months Sales & Delivery: 3-4 Months Release Date: 5-6 Months That's 30 to 41 months or an average of 3 years. That's why it's important to keep writing and producing. What you start writing today will be released in Fall 2026. Another reason why you should write your voice and not chase the market. You can never know how long the film will take to release and what will be popular at that time.
