I’d like to think that one of our so called ‘football journalists’ would explain to the great unwashed that the Okon Jr transfer fee is a byproduct of a closed shop franchise system with a salary cap, resulting in our players being worth $0 domestically. But this is the same closed shop they gatekeep for as propagandists. Everyone wants to talk about systemic changes for the game to go to the next step, then you’re smacked in the face with a reality check. We had state league players in the 80s go for more than double what some clubs get here as 'training compo/transfers'. Let that sink in.

Good read this. This is the minimum you’d expect from our leading ‘football journalist’ in this country, instead we get comedy write ups about Aaron Chen on match day with Egypt. I’m sure there will be another article coming soon with tactical annihilation of Popa and the state of play, by a figure who makes most of our soccer journos look the other way in fear of exposing their lack of football knowledge.
