@thisaeshaw Well I just had to look that up. Turns out the siren is a test from Thames Water due to the use of chlorine in one of their treatment works in the area. I’m not sure I’d find it soothing.

@Emmadw Is it a wireless keyboard? I had problems with a wireless mouse that would just do weird things on some applications, like lock Excel up when I clicked in the formula bar or tabbed to it. It is seems illogical it might be worth checking. I did never work out why.

I’ve got a weird keyboard issue, I’m using a Mac & have the same issue with its keyboard & an external. I can type # fine on everything *other than Edge*. They work in Word, Chrome, you name it, they work. Have to copy & paste to use them. Some weird Edge setting??

@purkischarlott1 They closed most of their shops/kiosks unfortunately. They were nearly all at stations so lost footfall during covid. A shame, as they were a pretty decent ethical retailer and good coffee. amp.theguardian.com/business/2022/…

@mart_compton @Linkletter Or conversely that the AI is using those sources more verbatim than we might expect. I actually guess these are made up demo numbers, but yes, this really would add complexity to working out what has gone on.

Here we go. This is a screenshot of Turnitin's AI Writing Detection tool. It's a little blue box labeled "AI" which has a percentage between 0 and 100. That's it. That's all instructors have to go on. This is nothing more than an algorithmic suspicion score. It's not teaching.
