Dulu di awal karirku pernah liat video tips dari LinkedIn Learning buat nego gaji. Selalu aku pakai buat nego gaji di dalam maupun luar negeri. Intinya gini: 1. Search market value nya di role yg sama itu sekitar berapa. 2. Nilai diri kita sendiri, cari poin plus yg emang align dengan yg dicari perusahaan. Di atas 50% dari yg dicari aja sebenernya udah bisa jadi leverage buat kita. 3. Pas nego, kasih nominal range sesuai penilaian tadi. Jangan spesifik nominal tertentu. Balikin bolanya ke perusahaan, jadi mereka juga sebenernya ngebantu kasih seberapa nilai kita di mata mereka. Alhasil nanti mereka yg ngasih nominal spesifik, justru jadi kita yg bisa balik nego lagi gaji tadi.

Here’s how to answer it properly: Example of a strong answer: ✅ “I believe no role is irreplaceable, but what differentiates professionals is the value they consistently bring. What makes me harder to replace is how I approach my work, not the title itself. In my previous role, I took ownership beyond my core responsibilities by understanding the full workflow, anticipating issues before they escalated, and ensuring continuity even during high-pressure periods. I focused on accuracy, reliability, and clear communication, which reduced errors and improved overall efficiency. Because of this, my contribution wasn’t just task-based—it was about stability, problem-solving, and trust. That combination takes time to rebuild, which is why I believe I add sustained value rather than being easily replaced.” Tip for candidates: Interviewers are not asking if you are irreplaceable. They are assessing whether you understand your value, avoid entitlement, and can clearly articulate how your impact goes beyond routine execution.

Here’s how you can answer "Tell me about yourself" based on your experience level: 1) For candidates WITH EXPERIENCE - INTRODUCTION "First of all, thank you for inviting me to this interview today. HR: When can you start work? Wrong answer: ❌ "Tomorrow we can." ❌ "Whenever possible." You should avoid answers that are too general. Okay, let's say your notice period is 1 month. And realistically, you can start in 4–6 weeks. You still can't say "1 month". Here's why: • Maybe the company is actually flexible. • You can wait 6 weeks. • Maybe they can negotiate a more suitable start date. • Or maybe you need to take some time to calm down before starting a new job. So you have to answer wisely. Follow these 3 examples: 1. Ask the company's expectations first "For this position, when is the new hire expected to start working ?" – Usually HR will tell you the real urgency. 2. If you want to maintain leverage "Currently my notice period is 1 month, but I am open to discuss according to the company's needs." 3. If HR insists on a specific date "Realistically, I can start in 4–6 weeks, depending on the exit and handover process."
