Always report any identity theft, successful or not, to the IC3 to help the #FBI and other government agencies understand the full breadth of the problem, and, just maybe, they will receive some additional funding to fight this scourge.

According to the @FTC, there were 444,602 reports of identity theft in 2018, but the number of identity theft victims is likely higher than publicly-reported statistics. You can report identity theft to the #FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) at ic3.gov.
