@achamess Could it be that the block is just too cold? What your describing also happens if the chamber and chuck holder is too cold. I'd increase the temp to like -18 to start and place your palm briefly against the specimen to lightly warm it to see if it improves.

@sshiers1 Extremely brittle. It makes a horrible grinding sound and doesn't slice well. Just chips off. Also there is a really terrible freeze damage in the middle of the tissue. Not all of them have this.
