@TheJarell I'm not an every-week preacher, but when I was invited to preach the sunday after Thanksgiving the year I was heavily pregnant and it wasn't technically Advent yet, you'd better believe I made it an advent sermon anyway.

You know I sometimes remember that the majority of Christians will never experience a pregnant woman preaching during advent and I just shed a little tear. Most Christians in the world will never have a woman pastor. How sad.

@GenZPastor It's sometimes such a balancing act between finding someone who "gets it" without having to explain every detail, and finding someone who aligns in terms of approach to therapy and ethics. Like, I'll take a secular therapist over a "biblical" therapist, thank you.

Ok potentially stupid question- with SAG on strike amongst all the other Hollywood strikes as well, is steaming crossing a picket line at this point? Like should we not be streaming until the strike ends? I’m not a scab I just don’t know the logistics here!!!

@theodramatist Never missing a chance to throw this guy under the bus: the pastor was a friend of my parents, and greeted me at the door, invited me to join the church AND a committee, and then used me as part of a sermon illustration without asking. On my first visit.

@bgillie1 is doing great, got a blizzard, is keeping track of all the babies born while she’s there, and is enjoying the chaplain’s regular prayers over the loud speaker throughout the day.

Saturday AM: pride at the zoo! Saturday PM: dog suddenly very sick Saturday PM PM: 6hrs at emergency vet! Sunday AM: guest preaching at a church getting a new pastor! Monday AM: @bgillie1 has kidney biopsy. Monday PM: puppy snugs.

@subtle_mullet I hear they're usually pretty desperate for school bus drivers and substitute teachers, but ... yeah.

So...how are us bivocational folks meant to find these other jobs when we're fresh out of a Master's degree and being sent to butt-ass nowhere with it?

@GenZPastor I'm so impressed by your organization and pre-work on these papers! I almost never got down to the actual writing of mine until about a month before they were due 😅

@hankgreen I absolutely treasured the opportunity to visit about *other things*. Like, sure, check in on how I'm feeling, but also let's gossip about work or celebrity drama. Something to retain a sense of self that's not just overtaken by being in the hospital.

Folks who have had big health thing come uninvited into your life...what did people in your life do for you / get for you that you appreciated?? I've had a couple quite nice things, but it's a tricky thing.

I love my Spotify recommendations except that every recommended playlist gets about four songs in on-theme before it turns into “music your 4yo constantly requests”
