@JuergenSchuster @shakeeb Blueprints takes reqs and combines w/a prompt, gens a fixed-format doc that APEX feeds to a PL/SQL proc that creates apps. Skills approach can also take requirements, distill them to specs and generate apps; no PL/SQL restrictions, quicker to adapt + enhance.

@sspendol @shakeeb Why is the Blueprint approach called deterministic and the APEXlang one isn't? The argument in the Office Hour was: "If you import the same Blueprint file you will get exactly the same App". But isn't that also true for importing the same APEXlang file? 🤔

@sspendol #orclapex Hi Scott, following questions if you can answer them: - The Blueprint Scaffolding approach was the old AI approach @shakeeb showed 2 years ago? - Are you keep on updating this approach and the corresponding blueprint-prompt.md for future versions? - Would you say, once the LLMs know APEXlang by heart, it's the better approach to generate .apx files via AI directly?

It's here! APEX 26.1 should be available in all regions on ADB. You have 45 days before this upgrade is automatically applied. You can defer another 45 days, but after 90 days, it will be applied regardless. Make a plan to test your upgraded applications ASAP #orclapex

New #orclapex 26.1 apps use Text Message-based translations by default, with a simpler dev experience. While not yet automatic, migrating an existing app to the new approach is possible. I explain how with a small sample app you can use to practice on. diveintoapex.com/2026/07/17/mig…

@kybldmstr There's 1 Exadata that had an issue w/the 26.1 patch; sounds like you're DB is on that one. They are working on a fix, so please be patient and sorry for the delay. One of my DBs is also there, so I'm waiting with ya.

@JamieStokesATX It started rolling out to free tier & smaller regions yesterday. Will continue to do so for the next week or so until all regions are done. To upgrade, you need to login as an instance admin and request that the upgrade be applied; else it will be auto-applied in 45 days.

@sspendol Any ETA on APEX 26.1 being available on OCI? We have 6 frustrated customers asking us. I'd love to be able to give them some direction.

@JuergenSchuster @martindsouza Eventually, yes. However, today, APEXlang has to be imported as a full application only. You can do all of this without Git, but then it's on you to know what changed where, etc. AI only needed to generate new things, not required at all.

@sspendol @martindsouza OK but my question was, is it a valid an approach to export 5 pages as .apx files change them in VSC with the help of AI and reimport them into the App-Builder? No Git, no Working Copies nothing, just like we worked before directly in the App Builder?

@JuergenSchuster @martindsouza You won't need AI if you have Git! Git (in a tool like VS Code) will highlight what was changed, and then you'll eventually just need to only compile/install pages that have changes.

@sspendol @martindsouza Is it fair to say, once we have component exports to .apx we simply can export a page, let AI do it's thing import it back and it's like the good old times where you worked on a page in the App-Builder just with the help of AI?

Upgraded two ADBs in the Toronto region with no issues. Takes about 1 hr+ or so, and you may see errors between 26.1.0 and 26.1.1. Be patient and it should resolve.

It's happening! Oracle APEX 26.1 rolling out to ADB-S databases. Smaller regions first, larger ones by next week. #orclapex

@sspendol Do I remember it correctly from the #orclapex Office Hour that the export of single pages into .apx files should come in an 26.1 update, basically before 26.2 so to speak?

Added Edit Mode to this app. Click the Edit Mode button to visually edit the application using the Property Palette, validate it, then export and import it back into Oracle APEX. But you must validate it using Oracle APEX Validator before importing. #orclAPEX
