this fandom gets high on inclusivity that they forget economics. higher supply will devalue a product. the more parallelism you get, the less meaningful the original source material will be. the uniqueness will be lost until you’re left with nothing but a phantom.

@Buddie_101 @cam_ophelia cause art is meant to be criticized? take a film class. how do you thing problematic themes are discussed in the real world. why do problematic characters even exist? because people can APPRECIATE fiction and see them more than they are showed to be, which facilitates talk 😭

@Buddie_101 @cam_ophelia you’re making it deeper than it is. you can responsibly hate fiction. it just means you have strong dislike for an imminent plot tied to that character. you heard of nuance?

@Buddie_101 @cam_ophelia you’re allowed to enjoy the theo sl. however, im not obligated to do the same. i am not policing you on what you can like or dislike 😭 cause i can treat fiction as fiction.

@Buddie_101 @cam_ophelia if you can’t appreciate a character and criticize them as a plot device used to forward a plot, then that’s on you. stick with your black and white takes on who is good and bad. ofc there are extremists who take it too far and leave fiction to attack the actors, but IM NOT THEM.

@Buddie_101 @cam_ophelia you moral elitists are actually pushing the anti-intellectualism agenda into the arts.

@percysarya yes nd communities are nice cause you can relate and what not. but found family is built on the ability to form rich connections in spite of this. like it’s okay to say that you believe in blood dynamics 😭

@percysarya so did get the underlying messaging of the theo sl yet or? i still disagree with your point though since it argues that strong community is only possible with people you share traits with. that would invalidate buck’s own found family with the 118? or am i misinterpreting.

@stacheofeddie I mean if anything it’s closer to saying that everyone deserves at least two audhd cousins but sure ok. If anything I’m sad that Theo wasn’t adopted by other ND people

@percysarya you can’t disregard blood, when the sequence in the show makes it a point that theo’s adhd or destructive behavior was hereditary 😭 that’s why people disliked the episode because of the problematic messaging. community is good, but the show emphasized biology as the solution.

@stacheofeddie Actual what I’m saying is that non neurodivergent people will never truly understand ND people even when they try which they usually don’t. Same way I don understand what it’s like to not be audhd. In academia it’s called the double empathy problem.

Yes absolutly and it can also be look at through the lens of how neurodivergent kids especially ones who can’t mask deserve to grow up around people who understand them and have been where they are instead of people who will never truly understand them and will judge them
stvn@stacheofeddie

@EchoesOf911 the concept of buck being the biological solution to a destructive theo when the adoptive parents couldn’t handle (or were largely stressed out) leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

@percysarya if heteronormative people made the same argument you did, it would be labeled as ableism. people are more complex and capable than you think. i can’t really blame you for engaging with the directing though. that’s was the message i disagreed with from the start 🤷‍♂️

@percysarya yeah i dislike that rhetoric. adoptive parents have the capacity to understand kids who are different then them. you don’t have to say adoptive parents are incompetent to justify the plot. just say you enjoy buck having a biological son.
