@nickbtcbull @ManaByte Agreed, if you take the trilogy out of it then I like most of what has been done recently, still got Acolyte to go and have almost given up on Goonies but will go back to it I’m sure. They could explain it away as an alternative dimension version following some failed experiment

You’re asking the wrong question(s) as most who are against de-canonizing do. You have to start with the single question, “What is the best path forward for the long term health of this franchise for the entire fan base?” You cannot be a serious objective person and disagree that at least 51% of the global fan base is unhappy with the sequels and the current state of the franchise. All quantifiable metrics have confirmed this and Disney knows it. Why do you think OT characters are finally coming into the parks? The only path forward to have any chance at restoring this franchise is to remove the sequels from canon. It might break some eggs short term, but it must be done.

All the people saying that Lucasfilm should de-canonize the Sequel Trilogy and make the Zahn trilogy as movies need to explain how you're supposed to make a movie set five years after Return of the Jedi with Luke, Han, and Leia still as young as they were at the end of ROTJ without recasting (which they'd reject), without CGI/AI (which they'd reject), and in live action in 2026.

@ManaByte If they get the recasting right and the scripts are strong (which we know they would be if heavily based on the books) and the Directing is good (give it to Jon Favreau) they it stands a great chance of succeeding

@GameLoreDash The efforts with Solo were fine by me and I really liked the film too, gutted the follow up was cancelled as it was set up nicely

People arguing you cant recast the Original Trilogy actors (probably cus Solo bombed) casually forgetting Ewan McGregor was near universally accepted on par with Sir Alec Guinesses Obi Wan. 🤦‍♂️

Star Trek in the Ocean was an interesting idea. After all it’s still not 100% explored. Something James Cameron would use in his brilliant movie The Abyss. The question. Did Seaquest do the idea justice for TV? I have mixed feelings. I never watched it like I did Trek.. just episodes here and there.

@FiredUpCoug Is this series really worth reading? I haven’t read Star Wars in a looooong time. I read some books probably 15-20 years ago that filled in some gaps of the first trilogy, and a few books years before that on the original movies.

How Disney can save the Star Wars franchise in two simple steps: 1) Declare that Kathleen Kennedy's sequel trilogy is non-cannon. 2) Replace it with Timothy Zahn's trilogy.

@FiredUpCoug I was saying the other day that Jon Favreau needs to be put in charge, tasked with remaking the trilogy and the Kennedy trilogy labeled as an alternate universe version, give the fans what they want
