This conversation bores me. Single-sex spaces should be honored as far as the law goes. I don't think natal males should be allowed in female changing rooms, but that's not the law everywhere and not my battle to fight. I don't encounter single-sex spaces in my everyday life, so I don't have to give a shit. I use the men's restroom out of convenience all the time in my leftist shithole city. Orchestrating an entire online account on fighting women's battles as a homosexual may seem virtuous to you, but I can't help but roll my eyes. But continue being a good little homosexual.

Humanity will eventually evolve past sex typification, even if that may not happen in our lifetime. Not accepting that eventuality is, ironically, irrational. I agree with you that sex is immutable, but the practical application of that reality will only become less relevant. All-gender bathrooms aren't called either-sex bathrooms.

People don't like on-the-nose messaging. A non-zero amount of people who watch that video either subconsciously or consciously recognize that she doesn't really belong there. People don't want to be spoonfed messages, especially when they have a warped perception of trans people already being dominant in culture.

That's kind of my point. I don't feel validated or invalidated by meaningless words, especially if they're coming out of my mouth. Realistically, nobody who passes well like her is being seen as a man in the binary sense, even if she says she is. It coaxes a normal person into thinking she's "one of the good ones," for lack of a better term (blasphemy for those who aren't willing to give an inch, I know). You wouldn't say she's less of a woman than you are, right? Neither would she. I'm validated by being a woman, personally, and recognizing the framework that the average cïs person is working with has zero to do with it.

Yes, that is a positive reaction. I think it's ironic that as trans people, we turn the concept of gender on its head but read certain actions as rigidly male-coded. People use "man" and "bro" colloquially across genders, but don't dare say those to a trans woman who thinks everything is personal! It's not supposed to be satirical. I think it's purpose (insofar as it has one) is to illustrate a realistic scenario. Still engagement bait, but not entirely useless. I mean, that is a transitioned trans woman who underwent hormonal and/or surgical transition: it doesn't convey a want to strips trans people of their right to be. If trans women were mandated to use the men's bathroom, this is pretty close to what a typical interaction would be like.

I mean, that's clearly a positive reaction, staged or not. And people are generally positively surprised to realize that an attractive woman was born male, however inaccurately they receive that information, in a scenario where a man's ego isn't at stake (read: hitting on a trans woman and realizing "too late"). Most trans women only interact with other trans women and view cïs appeasement as a total non-negotiable. Incidentally, a life spent interacting primarily with trans women sounds like hell. Also, the video mimics how little men care about trans women in bathrooms. It's another hinge issue, yes, amplified by transphobes, but they have a point in that this video is basically what happens (i.e. men will pee next to a hyena if they know they're in the men's restroom).

Not to get too into the weeds here... I understand that I don't have the largest sample size, but the way unintegrated trans women treat you if they read you as cïs is not completely unlike a five-year-old giving you the silent treatment. They'll engage in stunted conversation, but if you adhere to relative conventional beauty standards and don't have a booming voice, you're not part of the clique. "Trans" means "across," but if one were to honor that prefix meaningfully, their space is not their space.

I think the pushback (as far as stupid internet noise can be considered pushback) from typically female-attracted trans women is that she "can" do this. (If it's staged or not, it's a plausible scenario.) I've been in more trans spaces than I've ever been recently, and well, many trans women can't toy with words so loosely because they don't integrate adequately as women, and their word is all they have to go by. No wonder this rationale is foreign to them. I'm not saying that there aren't any levelheaded trans women that fall into this category, but they do exist in an insular alternative reality.

Succumbing to staged engagement bait on a Saturday afternoon—It's fine to be "this kind" of trans woman. I don't know if you've realized this, but it's actually a very fundamental shift for people to overlook anatomical sex in favor of gender identity, especially if they're not Gen Z or Gen Alpha. And quite a few people think it's delusional to insist you're a woman when you were born male, and first impressions count for a lot. Talking to people at their level makes them more at ease, and it doesn't start them at "you're crazy." Let people come to their own realization about the fluidity of gender when they observe you after a favorable first impression and think "well, that's just a woman."
