The fact that people think that the only alternative to robes is an “expensive” suit is an example of the silly, entrenched elitism in the profession. No one needs an expensive suit to do well. No one is looking at pick stitching (or lack thereof) or whatever in a Zoom hearing.

Does anyone here mark up their personal reading books? I've recently gotten a Kindle, which allows me to highlight favorite quotes and passages, but now I find that I want to do that with actual books too. But...highlighting and annotating feels weird outside of textbooks. 😂

Now seems like as good a time as anyone to point out I called the @LawSocietyLSO hotline for Indigenous folks with questions about making complaints about a lawyer a month ago and still haven’t got my call returned as promised. I found an answer to my question elsewhere but… 1/
