@MSidgwick I remember saying to friends while Punk was with the company that if AEW dies in a few years, it would be Punk’s doing. I didn’t expect that to still be possible once he was long gone.

CM Punk has permanently altered the DNA of AEW. Both parties have contributed to this deep malaise, and there's a sense of "fuck this" hanging over everything. It can't go on.
