I don't know why they changed the name on that particular brand you saw once, but it's not an effort to replace or water down Christmas. A retailer would have to be insane to try and throw their own money away.

@ServeOnlyGod They're eggs sold at Easter. They don't need to say Easter eggs to be an Easter egg. Hot cross buns don't say Easter anywhere on the packet- yet they're an Easter based food. If you need your eggs to say Easter on them to know they're Easter eggs- you're a fucking moron

The trees generally still say Christmas trees on the display- the boxes give you the type of tree (fir, pine etc) "Christmas tree" is not a required description- we know they're Christmas trees, it's why why put them up at Christmas.
