Artists who write great lyrics, in a way, will always be superior to those who don’t. They form a much deeper connection to their audience and that’s why they have the most loyal fanbase and unmatched longevity other artists can only dream of.

While everyone was chasing the urban/dance/bubblegum pop trend at the time, 1989 took a different route: it ambitiously brought storytelling & emotional songwriting back to mainstream Pop, a style that echoed through the rest of the decade and even to this day.

1989 didn’t just break records, it changed the course of pop music. It led to the rebirth of poptimism, played a key role in the growing trend of 80s sound today, became the most awarded pop album ever, and is regarded as one of the most successful crossover albums of all time.

I hope Swifties realize that the re-recordings are NOT an opportunity for them to attribute every lyric of these albums to her exes. The whole point of this project is slowly being overshadowed (as we've seen in RED TV) because a lot of you won’t stop mentioning them for clout.

Taylor’s rollout for folklore & evermore is a product of pandemic. They are thematically and marketed as sister albums, while Sweetener and TUN are not. Taylor won the AOTY. The other lost most of its nominations to an 18-year-old. They are nothing alike.

She flawlessly crossed three genres, sought to fight for artists rights throughout her career, became the best-selling artist from from this century, changed the pop music landscape forever, and continuously bend the industry to her will to this day. Happy 32nd birthday, Taylor.
