Spacetrack re-entry alerts are rarely able to narrow down re-entry events tighter than a half-to-full orbit (sub 1 hour warning). While the ground-track is known, the location along the ground track is extremely vague.

Re-entries of satellites are mostly random (chart 4) but from 2025 #spacex appears to be trying to get #starlink down in the pacific or southern latitudes (chart 2), and in particular, the heavier ones are biased away from land (chart 3) but bottom line, nothing is certain

A demo of the Ham radio dashboard, this is a free side mission in the app. I'm trying to encourage #hamradio amateur satellite hobbyists to try it and give feedback to shape the function but in 2026 software is basically free so that's an uphill battle.

@carloscampano Thanks! the new version went into the store this morning, if your app doesn't have Astronauts as a link in the top left, it is the previous one. In this new version you can arrange what is in your button bar, and it has a free Ham radio function.

@astro_Pettit Desk-bound souls can play with ISS view of satellite trains at satellitemap.space .. add 25544 to the default starlink setup with Search, then click the small [ i ] then click the [ 👁️ ] button and move the camera and time around and switch to 4k globe view..

@julienvm I can't find the exact moment unless Don reveals the UTC time of the time lapse - there are so many trains visible right now to the ISS. I did ask him by DM but he won't see my question. It's very helpful though to see how it looks in reality. I'd like to add more realism.

People stuck on the ground can possibly reproduce Don's event by playing with the simulator at satellitemap.space. just ride on the ISS, turn on 'trains', and try to find the right clock moment and view!
