I returned to Twitter this week after being suspended for 2 1/2 months. Twitter did not reinstate my account. Rather, I dropped my appeal. Now, I want to tell you why. Here's my story of what happened. 🧵

@itsontheradio The Resistance is very oppressed. They usually have no voice. No media will air their views. Their ranks are not represented at any of our universities. They are uniformly shunned and mocked by our popular mainstream entertainers. They're forced to protest to be heard at all.

Awesome job by all the No Kings protestors today. You raised awareness that you do not like Donald Trump. Because previously we had absolutely no idea that anyone doesn't like Donald Trump. This simply is not a point of view that ever gets heard. Great success. A+.

@KeruboSk Attending sporting events. It used to be considered the working man's theatre. Now, going to a game is as expensive as a Broadway show.

@meghan_daum There's also usually a reason he has stayed single, apart from his rationalizations. In my experience, very few men actually want this deep down. Many men have serious personality flaws that aren't immediately apparent, but would preclude him from ever achieving marriage.

@Zigmanfreud In the age of AI, we need to ask ourselves a very important question: Do we seek automated optimization in every corner of our lives, in the futile pursuit of perfection, at the expense of what makes us human? The wording of my question gives youy answer.

This happens in all walks of life now. People think decisions like getting rid of MLB umpires have no “hidden” implications that they won’t like. If you get rid of MLB umpires, good luck in 10 years finding a HS/college umpire. The pipeline will die out because MLB is the dream!

@Zigmanfreud The solution is to have the machine called the balls and strikes in the first place

@CatholicCharm @r7f8hfs48h Grew up there, have now been in the Chicago area for 20 years. Chicago winters are longer and far colder. New England is less cold, more snow. And in Chicago the real warmup doesn't usually happen until May.

People talk like New England is cold and miserable for half the year but it’s really just January-mid April. 3 1/2 months and then the rest of the year up here is incredible. Yes it’s chilly in November and cold in December but it’s the holiday season so it’s comfy vibes. The stretch between January and April seems like it goes by so slow so people act like winter lasts forever but it’s really not that bad. Then spring officially starts with everything blooming and it being perfectly breezy and everybody forgets how miserable they were a few weeks ago ☀️ we’re almost there everyone just hold strong

@annegreenstreet I say this as no fan of Trump, myself, but I'm afraid this is just the left's default volume setting now. I find it hard to believe they wouldn't be doing similar to this with a President DeSantis or Haley or anyone else with an "R" next to their name.

@LadyDemosthenes Meat = Hot Dog Which leads to... Veggie = Mustard (it comes from a seed, it's a vegetable) Starch = Bun See how easily it all falls into place? In all seriousness, yes, I do this, too.

Now I’m curious about other Americans. Do you pick a main course (usually meat centered) and then plan the side dishes around it? I was taught to basically pick a meat, a veggie, and a starch to plan a well rounded meal. The meat always seemed to be the center.

@statomattic One of the kids at our neighborhood park accidentally walked through the SF one, and provided this report: “It was weird. There was a completely naked guy. Thankfully, all I saw was his butt.”

@Uncoolnerdguy Also, I am not confused or pretending to be confused about anything. I said exactly what these protests are about. They hate Donald Trump. You can fit any issue of the day into that framing. I don't like Trump either, particularly. But these protests are silly and childish.

@GinaMuscato I completely agree. The appeal of sports is that they're played (and officiated) by human beings. The human experience is not about robotic perfection, it is about striving. The more you take the human element out of the game, the more appeal it loses. Imperfections and all.

Unpopular opinion: I understand some ball/strike calls are egregious & the ability to challenge makes sense…but baseball isn’t meant to be so precise that you rely on a box. Grey area around the plate is part of the gm. Otherwise it’s just not baseball. Idk. I’ve mixed feelings.

@Opportunitweet There is a Houston Street in a town that borders ours here in Illinois. I pronounce it the New York way in my head every single time.

Dear Influencers, Please do not pronounce Katz's as "Katz". It's cat-ziz. Say the s. Katz's is on Houston St. and is pronounced House-ton. Not like the city in Texas. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
