Before tonight's game we held a moment of silence in memoriam of Charlie Kirk. Kirk founded the youth activist group “Turning Point USA” and had become a fixture on college campuses. Charlie Kirk, a husband and father of two children, was 31 years old.

Charlie Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA, inspired and mobilized countless young conservatives across the country. He visited Aggieland just a few months ago, where Texas A&M has a large and active Turning Point chapter. A prayer vigil is being planned by students for 9pm on Thursday on campus. (It was first set for Wednesday night, but moved to Thursday for security reasons.) Regardless of politics, two children lost their father today. Violence has no place on either side of the aisle, and if we don’t find a way to end the hate, our nation is in serious trouble. We should be able to debate and disagree passionately without fear of bloodshed. I could share a million more thoughts, but I’m sure your feed is already filled with opinions. What happened to humanity that so many people think fascism is a leftist thing... Fascism has always been a right-wing response to socialist policies they don't like. Before you throw the "Nazis were socialists" argument at me, no they weren't. They actively silenced and persecuted true socialist members of their party. Communism and fascism do share similarities, but communism is far left while fascism is far right. Read about history, you may learn something.

Growing up, whenever I traveled abroad and told people I was from Oklahoma City, I almost always heard the same response: “Oh…OKC. Timothy McVeigh. The bombing.” That was our legacy. Known around the world for the deadliest act of domestic terrorism in U.S. history. For a long time, it felt like we’d always be remembered for that tragedy. But then, something changed. Around the early 2010s, I’d tell people I was from OKC, and they’d say: “Oh, Kevin Durant! Russell Westbrook! The Thunder, such a great team.” The Thunder didn’t just bring basketball to Oklahoma City. They brought healing. Identity. Pride. A new story to tell. The entire downtown has been transformed around the Thunder arena. They helped turn the page. From pain to possibility. From being defined by tragedy to being united by something hopeful. So when you see me hyped about this team, just know: it’s not just about sports. It’s about a city that rebuilt itself from the rubble. A community that found new life through shared hope and purpose. That’s the power of sports. With all the tragedy and hardship in the world, we get these brief moments of joy and unity together as a community for a common cause. Our team, our city. Thank you Thunder, the 2025 NBA Champions!
