The last day of RSS Conference 2025 featured Statisticians for Society, presentations from Young Statisticians’ Meeting 2024 and effects of environment on mental health. The day came to a smooth and successful close. 😤⭐ Huge thanks to RSS team & G-Research for their support 🙌

In the "Learn from my mistakes" session, three successful statisticians (Richard Samworth, Fiona Underwood and Lucy Teece) shared their career stories and the lessons they have learned from varied experiences, offering valuable perspectives to those on their own career journeys.

Day 3 of the RSS conference close with fresh insights and discussions💡 We had three prize winners (Nick Zhang, Erin Russel and Jiayao Shao) of the Research Students’ Conference (RSC) in Probability and Statistics 2024 giving high-quality presentations of their research ideas 🏆

The second day of the RSS Conference wrapped up successfully with the pub quiz night! 🍻 We thank those for attending and participating in the quiz. 😺 We also thank Phastar for their generous support at the pub quiz night. 🎉

Co-organising with the Teaching Statistics section, four experienced educators in the data sciences (Claire Rebello, Elinor Jones, Ioanna Papatsouma, Sophie Lee) shared their passion for teaching and highlighted the varied opportunities available across different sectors. 📝

In the "Plotting your path" session co-organised with Celebrating Diversity SIG, three inspiring female statisticians (Sarah Lotspeich, Kimberley Kavanagh and Christl Donnelly) shared their journeys and encouraged female students & professionals to pursue their paths confidently.

Special thank to @RSSDiversity for their support 🤠✨! We will organise other panel discussions moving forward on professional develipment topics, focusing on different diverse groups. We are open to your opinions and suggestions 🤗💪.

Although the focus of the session will be on female professionals with family caring duties, we believe that others will be benefited by learning how these professionals overcame challenges 🏔️, progressed their career 📝 and supported their family members and loved ones 💞.
