@_xjdr let's put two mirrors facing each other, briefly shove someone smart through, and hope that the amplified reflection persists!

these models are mirrors and amplifiers. if you are capable these models can have insane and untold improvements on capability and capacity. if you are dumb as a box of rocks, you will be dumb but AT SCALE (and at great personal expense). this is a great example, fable helped someone capable of this feat accomplish it (maybe at least) on a whim while watching the world cup . you, dear reader, are most likely not capable and thus no amount of prompting would get you to this solution. its a mirror and an amplifier not a wizard

I don't think mathematicians should worry much yet if the first part of Levent's bio were true, then for sure

I do not have a very strong opinion on this, but this is a very interesting take. What intrigues me is the parallel to how small vile acts by politicians and leaders that go unpunished then start changing norms and institutions, and get amplified. Think of the US today.

@RPotluck is there a decade where nothing happens if there's nobody around to observe nothing happening?
English

@statusfailed One of the likely outcomes is that after a few chaotic years of things happening all over the place, things will stop happening and nothing will ever happen forever.
English

i'm not sure if there will be decades where nothing happens anymore...
vik@vikhyatk
there are decades where nothing happens then there are tweets where decades happen

@Armandotrue i think it's 'sycophantic psychosis'; social media still involves ~n other individuals and LLMs are the ultimate solipsistic form (n = 0). So both special cases.
English

Interesting thought and also if it were to be true, LLM psychosis would be a subset of social media psychosis
statusfailed@statusfailed
Why did we coin "LLM psychosis," but never "social media psychosis"?
