St. Canice's

Thanks to all of the hard work completed by our Green Schools' Committee and the support of the whole school community, St. Canice's N.S. has been awarded an eighth Green Flag: Global Citizenship & The Marine Environment. Here is a snippet of what they've been up to:

We presented medals to our camogie and gaelic football girls on Friday. We are very proud of all they have achieved this year. Special thanks to Mrs. Cody who presented the medals and had some great words of wisdom for the girls.

Congrats to 4 of our 4th Class students who had great success in the County Community games. Jill 1st place in art, Malachi 1st place in art, Ruadhan 1st place in handwriting and 3rd in art and Krystof 1st place in 100m running. All heading to the national finals!! 🥳👏

Thanks to the coaches from @TullogherGAA and @Tullogher_CC for coming in to help with sessions during Active Schools Week. The junior and senior infants had a blast.

6th Class had a great day out today in New Ross Rugby Club for a tag rugby blitz today. Thanks to all who helped organise and to @Rathgarogue_NS and @scoilmhoreswood for some excellent games. Fair play to Mr. Ryan for providing the ice creams on the return journey to Rosbercon.

Hard luck to our camogie girls who were beaten by an excellent Coon/Muckalee team in the county final last Sunday. The girls fought to the bitter end but unfortunately it wasn't to be. We are immensely proud of these girls and no doubt there will be brighter days ahead for them.

Congrats to our school camogie team who overcame a talented Thomastown team on Tuesday to reach the county final. Details of the final are yet to be decided. Well done girls and best of luck in the final. Tullogher/Rosbercon abú. 🖤💛🖤💛

It was Odd Socks Day in school on Tuesday to celebrate the final day of Friendship Week. Thanks to Mrs. Byrne and Mrs. Grennan for organising a great week and thanks to all our fantastic students for showing such amazing friendship towards each other.

Hard luck to the girls playing in the @FAIreland 5 aside Wexford finals today. They played amazingly and narrowly lost out to a strong Blackwater side.

Junior Infants were busy painting fairy tales this morning. They loved listening to and creating images from Little Red Riding Hood and the Three Little Pigs.

Smiles all round in 3rd class! Kate Purcell proudly shows off her Irish dancing trophy while Jaidyn O' Donnell happily shares his medal after a great win in gymnastics.

4th Class dressed up for @WorldBookDayIE today. A very creative bunch who just love books.

We had a very special visitor in school yesterday. Santa was given a huge welcome to Junior Infants and he was treated to some amazing Christmas carolling.

Reminder that our Christmas carol service takes place today at 1pm. The children have been very busy preparing this service and look forward to welcoming their family members to the church later today.

1st class attended a bubble science show in WIT last week. They learned loads and had lots of fun.

It was a busy @ScienceWeek in 4th class last week. They planted tulips and daffodils with Andy, did some STEM challenges, carried out experiments and presented their scientist research projects.

Best of luck to the school girls in the Cumann na Mbunscoil Roinn A Girls Football Final vs Moneenroe tomorrow at 10.00am in Palmerstown (Dicksboro GAA grounds). It's an amazing achievement to get to the final and we are all extremely proud of them. ⬛🟨⬛🟨⬛🟨 @TLgfa
