Invasive species are one of the greatest threats to the biodiversity of waters, wetlands, and woodlands in Canada. They can spread through recreational boating 🚤, the release of live bait 🎣, the movement of firewood 🔥, and more. #InvSpWk invadingspecies.com/pathways/

🌿Do you have Phragmites on your property? We can help! In recognition of Invasive Species Week, the SCRCA is launching our 2026 Phragmites Cost-Share Program to help local landowners control and reduce Phragmites on their properties. Invasive Phragmites is one of the most visible and widespread invasive species in the St. Clair Region. It crowds out native plants, degrades habitat, increases fire risk, and limits recreational use. Through this program: SCRCA covers the cost of: ✅ Control measures ✅ Specialized equipment Landowners cover the cost of: ✅ Licenced exterminator (approx. $50/hour) If you’re interested in tackling Phragmites on your property, contact Jeff Sharp, Manager of Conservation Services 📞 (519) 245-3710 Ext. 217 📧 jsharp@scrca.on.ca #InvSpWk #Phragmites #SCRCA #StClairRegion
