Ultimately, even if it fumbles the ending, I think The Amazing Digital Circus is the show that captures the spirit of the 2020s. The internet is fake and ghey. It’s slop. Everyone wants to leave into the more authentic world, but nobody can seemingly find an exit.

@frapposting My dad and I would bring our dog to the nursing home with us to visit my late grandma. Every time she saw him it was a new experience for her and be very excited. It’s a little bittersweet but I loved seeing her be so happy.

I like bringing my grandma her favorite cakes, since she has dementia she thinks she's never tasted them before and i seem like i'm just really good at picking out cake flavors she will like

The death of social trust is really a tragedy. Most people need socializing to think or stay sane. When people don’t even trust professionals paid to be trustworthy, then they really don’t trust their friends. When people don’t talk about something the idea atrophies and gradually dies until it falls back into the unknown. We’ve lost so many things in this manner over the last few decades

The meat at the local store where I am in Austin was rotting for a while. Even when I bought it. Now I just ate an absolutely disgusting vegetable within hours of buying it. The worst thing is that they often smell ok since it’s masked with chemicals so you only know how bad it is after the bite. This isn’t ok. We’re not the Soviet Union and this is still peace time. I talked to a local butcher who said that there’s a beef shortage so we’re importing cows from Venezuela and Peru which don’t have any real quality control. Dark times
