@ste93115 I like to think of my work as a spiritual successor to the aftermath of something like AM.
One of the characters essentially gets reduced to this, but the punishment of immortality gets reversed as he becomes unkillable cyborg warrior on the battlefield.

@ste93115 @Michaeldudufudu Well that's not scientism. Scientism is saying that empirical evidence or scientific method is the only valid way to get knowledge about reality
English

@Quasy021 @Michaeldudufudu At least historically scientists used to be deeply spiritual people. Observation of the world was merely part of trying to understand the scope of god.

@JonWL12 @vintagemapstore The northern section of it is the St John river. But 2/3rds of it is just a land border

I NEVER EVER EVER buy maple syrup thats not tapped from NY trees on NY farms. Never new england maple, never canadian maple. But today I bought from this lovely Vermont family, and you should too. I'll make an exception for this lovely guy 😉

@frapposting My dad and I would bring our dog to the nursing home with us to visit my late grandma. Every time she saw him it was a new experience for her and be very excited. It’s a little bittersweet but I loved seeing her be so happy.

@katherineveritt I would goon in class during your lecture. Every time you'd turn and your leather trousers would stretch against your bum i would groan audibly.

@Klingondoomer @whatifalthist That was literally the previous 4 years of my life lol, except instead of computer science it was atmospheric science
English

@whatifalthist This has happened to me where when I go into hermit and read or research something for a while I had this strange saeculi in my field of interest (computer science) and I would have this unremitting desire to talk to people about it. Literal opioid

The death of social trust is really a tragedy. Most people need socializing to think or stay sane. When people don’t even trust professionals paid to be trustworthy, then they really don’t trust their friends. When people don’t talk about something the idea atrophies and gradually dies until it falls back into the unknown. We’ve lost so many things in this manner over the last few decades

do people actually tell their therapist that theyre suicidal

@whatifalthist If you have the freezer space I HIGHLY recommend buying a quarter or an 8th of a cow. Since you’re in Texas I’m sure it’s doable.

The meat at the local store where I am in Austin was rotting for a while. Even when I bought it. Now I just ate an absolutely disgusting vegetable within hours of buying it. The worst thing is that they often smell ok since it’s masked with chemicals so you only know how bad it is after the bite. This isn’t ok. We’re not the Soviet Union and this is still peace time. I talked to a local butcher who said that there’s a beef shortage so we’re importing cows from Venezuela and Peru which don’t have any real quality control. Dark times

@zoomerdarlings Why would a lifeguard be in her room? They are typically at pools/lakes/the ocean. This is a completely retarded post.

@YandereEito California is the island of the lotus eaters. I think being born in California does something to your mental state where you can be disassociated from reality. How dare they complain and nag while I have to live in Western New York…..

all of the contiguous United States besides the most extreme alpine tundra and the town from Twilight has Naples levels of sunshine.

I’ve long argued that religious guilt is a primarily weather based phenomena. Seasonal depression in search of an explanation, you couldn’t have Calvinism on the Mediterranean
