as a kid i tried to be as quiet and inoffensive as possible because i didn't want to be a nasty man, but then other times i felt like i would get in trouble or something if i didn't front that way anyway. translating that now into femininity and hearing "quiet down woman" is wild

taking up space as a trans woman is incredibly complicated and awful because you are not supposed to be loud and proud or you are an aggressively socialized male, but if you are too shy and quiet you must be a weird shameful pervert
