@oldviennalager My mom works there. That was painted in the late 00s, and the artist (rip Doris) is now dead. My mom was pregnant when that was painted and one of the babies is actually supposed to be me lol

The reason people posture as being anti-Drake is very simple: Drake is popular, and people think that liking popular things makes them “unintelligent”. The idea that someone can enjoy both Drake and Shakespeare does not compute for this crowd

Drake leaves the cryptic labyrinth to the whole package, not the lyrics. What’s not appreciated by the critics is the choreography of the total-art work— the whole rollout, the entire industry behind it, the coordination of a feature length music video, the years long breadcrumb trail

The reason Drake is the best is because his best lines are these very simple bits of wordplay that feel effortless & obvious until you realize no one else said it before: “My mind on my money / I’m racking my brain” etc

I live in one of the most beautiful places on the planet and yet I can understand completely why Drake would spend so much time in Toronto. Its a wonderful place to be.

@mahou_mage Well, yeah. Swatow is king for me, rol san used to be great and they switched locations and it went downhill, dim sum king is a classic. There’s arguably even better Chinese in Markham but you can’t really get there without driving
