This may not be a popular take but… The “vibe shift” is less about spirituality and more about a reactionary sentiment against puritanical progressivism. I would love to see MAGA represented by Marco Rubio and Erika Kirk’s speeches at the Charlie Kirk Memorial. I fear they’re more honestly represented by Stephen Miller and Trump’s speeches. Revival is historically marked by a spirit of repentance and prayerfulness. By humility. By the foundational, gospel ideal that we are sinners in need of grace. So much of the energy in our culture is about grievance and anger. Hard to call that revival.

We have an internet radicalization epidemic among lonely young white men. The patterns here echo what we’ve seen in recent school shootings, the Trump shooting in Butler, and countless other tragedies. Political ideology feels like a distraction—the common thread is brainrotted youth consumed by toxic online spaces.

I'm 22-years-old, the same age as Tyler Robinson... and I believe we have a bigger problem here. Young men are being radicalized by the internet at an unprecedented rate, which was only accelerated by COVID's isolation + foreign actors trying to incentive this type of radicalization. I've seen it happen to many of my friends - young men spending their formative years clawing back from COVID isolation, usually spending too much time deep in algorithms. Now, people are debating whether Tyler Robinson was a far leftist or on the far right, but here's the reality: IT DOES NOT MATTER. Another young white male who looks eerily similar shot up a high school at the SAME TIME Kirk was shot. His ideology does not matter - he was only at the whims of the algorithm that was radicalizing him, that algorithm could have just as easily introduced him to Nick Fuentes. Half of his bullets had MEMES on them, this was not some ideologue was confident in his views.

It’s incredibly challenging when Christians on various sides think the other side is delusional, blind, trapped, etc. How do we know who is being faithful to God? The litmus test I believe is: Cruciform love. Living the Beatitudes. The Sermon on the Mount. That’s how we know.

Gov. Shapiro: "This isn't a moment for partisanship. It's not a moment for division. And it's certainly not a moment to cherry pick which incidents of political violence count and which do not...We've seen political violence leave scars on individuals on the political left and the political right. We see it with Congressman Scalise who walks with a limp after being shot, or Congresswoman Giffords...We must condemn all political violence."

Breaking news from the UK (my homeland): Church attendance has increased by 50% over the last six years! The rise has been particularly striking among 18-24yr-olds, among whom churchgoing has quadrupled from 4% to 16% since 2018! Read more here: biblesociety.org.uk/research/quiet…

This is maddening. Please read this thread all the way through. It's getting harder and harder not to just feel raw rage at what is happening—and at the all the "Christians" who are CELEBRATING such injustices.

If he begins to feel conviction about outsiders, strangers, or enemies, quickly remind him of his “responsibility” to focus on his family, his church, his kind. Make “charity begins at home” his golden rule. Twist compassion into caution. Replace hospitality with suspicion.

Let him believe that “love your neighbor” was meant only for those who look like him, vote like him, worship like him—or, better still, live next door.
