A surprising number of artists overlook or completely ignore their publishing. If you’ve been releasing music for over three years and generating consistent streams, not taking action is basically giving money away.

Music rights twitter: version 2.0 of the music rightsholder flow chart is below and more convoluted than ever! Based on feedback, I added neighboring rights, included general revenue sources, sync/master-use, and made a few other tweaks. What else should I change or add?

Artists continue to sign bad deals with awful terms for the opportunity to compete for limited time and attention on bloated rosters. There is too much information readily available and too many options in the marketplace for this trend to continue.


The DOJ suing ticketmaster/livenation is misguided. It's not going to lower prices for customers, and regardless, most of the extra fees actually go to venues or promoters it's just going to get ticketmaster to include the fee as part of the overall ticket price
