For this week’s Nephron Friday Feature, meet the brilliant Stella Kliduff, MD, MS! Stella joined our faculty as one of the transplant nephrologists a little over a year ago after fellowship at @MontefiorePeds and we are so fortunate to have her!

In addition, she recently authored a compelling perspective piece published in @CJASN on the need for more rigorous trials of alkali therapy in slowing GFR decline in patients with CKD, check it out! journals.lww.com/cjasn/citation…

One of Stella’s many interests is the role metabolic acidosis plays in accelerating GFR decline in children with chronic kidney disease, including those who have received a kidney transplant. Last year she was awarded the competitive NKF young investigator award for this work!
