A5: without equal representation of standards that also explicitly articulate non-dominant literacy practices, you’re essential elevating the dominant literacy, which already has enough power as it is, and disregarding other literacies #schmiteracies

A4: when you are articulating it explicitly, you are acknowledging that this dominant language exists and in our current inequitable world it is advantageous to be literate in this way, however messed up that is #schmiteracies

Textual dexterity - the ability to express one’s self using language in an effective way. What if we encouraged our students to express themselves in these creative, nontraditional ways instead of ignoring or stifling/restricting them? #schmiteracies
