This conclusive video proof shows a wrong call - that wasn’t really that close - incorrectly ended Heritage Hall’s season in a 3A state overtime quarterfinal. A remarkable comeback by Rejoice Christian should have sent game into second OT. But rather … it unfairly left a dagger in the hearts of the Charger team that will never go away. I sat front row & knew immediately it was wrong … as refs sprinted off OGE Coliseum floor. A potentially classic game is wiped away … just as this putback should’ve been.

@nick_sardis @XavierOkwu I am usually on the side of the christian schools playing in the same league as the public schools, but if there was an argument against it... it was this game. Tonkawa has some dogs on that team, for a tiny 1A town. RC made them look like a JV team.

My three high school boys along with their team just won STATE! Congratulations to the Rejoice Christian Eagles! Big transition this year for the boys as they moved over from homeschool football.

Go to 16 teams with an unbiased BCS-type formula and no auto-bids—just the top 16 period. Winning your conference doesn't matter, and it doesn't encourage super conferences. Another idea: Create an FBS Division 1 (32 teams) and an FBS Division 2 (everyone else currently in FBS). Do a regulation each year. The top 16 of those 32 in FBS Div 1 go to the playoffs (start playoff around Thanksgiving and end the first week of January), and the remaining 16 go to bowl games, with the idea that if they don't perform well in the bowl, they could get relegated to the FBS Division 2.

If you were emperor of college football, and could wave a wand and make it so, how would you structure the playoff process? All the anger over the way the committee arrived at the field of 12 is bad for the sport. CFB is supposed to be joyful and passionate, with highs and lows from what happens on the football field, not a hotel conference room. For now, a simple thing would be to go to 16 teams sooner rather than later. It's easier to argue why #17 and #18 shouldn't be in than to argue why #11 Notre Dame and #12 BYU should be left out. What do you think?

They were one of two teams that practiced and played all the way through Christmas, New Year's, and the start of the spring semester, and nearly into February last year. I had a son play college ball last year at a lower level, and I get the excitement of postseason play, but there is also a really human element of saying we gave it our best, we didn't reach our goal, and we're done. Those players, coaches, and fans missed a lot last year, so I understand if you didn't reach your goal this year. Regroup, enjoy the holidays, and move on. They don't owe anyone outside that locker room anything.
