A full 5 years at @The_Lowry 🥹 can't believe it! 3 different jobs from Youth Arts to Stage Directions with a pandemic thrown in. It's been a wild ride & never a more important time to be doing the work I love, for people who need it most. I'm so grateful and happy to do it here.

Well, I’m a blink of an eye we are in June and our last half term of the year. So you know what that means? Y6 have started to prepare their end of year performance. Lovely Alex came in to help the children gather their ideas & create their own script. We can’t wait to see it!

A magical day taking my niece (1) & nephew (3) to the theatre today for A Very Hungry Caterpillar. Both children were captivated the whole time and I spent most of the show watching them- but what I did see was incredible puppets, gentle visuals & wonderful storytelling.

Little known fact - I once tried to take on all of Shed Seven in a fight when I was playing in a pro/celeb football match they were all watching on the touch line and kept shouting “MATTHEW KELLY!”at me. #TOTP

If I was still freelance during the pandemic, I'm certain I wouldn't be in theatre now... The worry and uncertainty... I'm in awe of the people who are still here to power our industry & serve our communities and I am grateful every single day for what they give & what I have.🧡

On world theatre day, I wanted to share... I saw 3 shows in a row last week, what a privilege! AND I bumped into lots of amazing people who I'm so lucky enough to share a sector with. Loads of them freelance: incredible independents whom I'm in awe of every day. 1/2
