Siyu @SiyuSong3 introduced the concept of PCoA.
She created this PCoA plot based on our lab members’ research interests.
Quiz: Is Tatsuya, sitting in the middle, interested in everything or nothing? 🤔

@MitchellSorbel2 @jonathandgjones @Kobe_Lab_ Agreed. Cleavage is generic and a better description of the initial nucleophilic substitution reaction with the enzyme and its associated loss of the base
English

@stephbornemann @jonathandgjones @Kobe_Lab_ I see your point! NAD+ cleavage would have been a better choice for the arrow. It is discussed more thoroughly in the text.

We wrote a focussed review on recent structural advancements in NLRs. It was a lot to cover we tried our best. We hope its enjoyable to experts in the field and useful to newcomers. Check it out: doi.org/10.1111/tpj.70…

English

@MitchellSorbel2 @jonathandgjones @Kobe_Lab_ Sure. Nevertheless, no matter which reactions are most frequent, the label hydrolysis in the figure is not strictly correct for most of the reactions shown. I did confess my chemistry pedantry, after all
English

@stephbornemann @jonathandgjones @Kobe_Lab_ In my experience, the major reaction is just NAD+ hydrolysis into ADPR. this isn't sufficient for signalling and it's their "side" reactions that are more interesting. It's also common for TIR domains from other species to only signal through NAD depletion (hydrolysis)

My great honour to have the support from TSL 🥹 And humongous thanks again to @mpcontreras4 for initiating the idea & kept encouraging me to do the phD by Publication program. Now TEAM PAU has upgraded 😆😝🫶

Huge congratulations to @HsuanPai1 on defending her PhD thesis by publication - a first at TSL. Such a PhD at UEA requires many years of research and many publications with significant intellectual input. A great example of what can happen when someone is given the space to grow.
