I’m tired of people weaponizing misinformation.
The lack of understanding about how Washington and legislation actually work is one of the reasons this country keeps falling apart.
People keep claiming Thomas Massie is ‘anti-border’ and ‘anti-ICE’ because he voted against H.R.2.
That’s not how legislation works.
Massie has repeatedly supported immigration enforcement and criticized illegal immigration for years. His objection to H.R. 2 was specific provisions inside the bill, especially expanded federal E-Verify powers, which he argued could become a government-controlled employment system. Have we forgotten how expanding government overreach is used against innocent Americans when it's in the wrong hands?
You can disagree with his reasoning. But pretending someone supports open borders because they refuse to rubber-stamp every massive bill written by lobbyists and party leadership is dishonest.
Most Americans never read these bills. They just repeat attack ads and talking points. As Americans, we need to do better.
