The idea that Rhaenyra “settled” for Syrax because Dreamfyre was available has never made sense to me. Fans talk about dragons like they’re waiting to be assigned by birth order. They’re living creatures with minds of their own. Syrax chose Rhaenyra, and Dreamfyre eventually chose Helaena. Isn’t that the whole point of the bond?
