@BotanMan I usually set the location manually then exclude countries Also in Google Ads, location setting is set to Presence or Interest by default setting. So someone who is interested in US will end up being targetted by the ad. Best change it to Presence

Does Google Ads Even Work for a Solopreneur? I was trying to validate if Ads is the way to go for me as a source of qualified leads and what is the budget I need to have to run such a tool. We build an eCommerce platform, so Ads Competition there is super high. Literally any request in google will lead you to Shopify results in Ads section. But there were a few long-tail keywords I managed to find which could be a solution for me. I have created a few campaigns, pick countries where I want my ads to be shown 2 weeks later I count that I got more than 200 leads! And some of them were registered and even started trial, but dropped after. But the thing is: I picked US, Canada and UK only in campaigns as target locations. When I started the analysis of user sources I found out that most of them are from India and Pakistan. I checked 2 analytic tools I have installed and internal tracking: most of users web-browser settings have Asia/Calcutta time-zone - meaning they far away from being a lead from US,UK or Canada. And the most unclear thing There is no word about source of traffic on Google Ads admin panel, I can not find any information about leads from these locations I never asked about. So what? Is it the way it works for everybody? Or is there a hidden checkbox I had to press to disable India? OR? I burned about 300$ this way. It feels I was deceived, and I believe I'm not alone here. Thousands of people build there product in public without any funding, so every dollar counts. Is it a FEE for being a new user on the platform? I can imagine I did something wrong. At the same time, it feels Campaign settings were implemented in a way to lead every new users into this if you are not 10 years Google Ads expert. Anyway I still have no idea how and what I did wrong. I would be more than happy to get some expert opinions on this topic 🙌
