I was sat next to a guy in the tube just now. White guy. Scruffy, 30s. Didn’t stay a word to me til it was his stop. ‘Andrew right?’ I smiled like an idiot. Mostly when people recognise me it’s because they’re fans. ‘Yes hello’. He announced to the whole tube: ‘I hope it weighs heavily on your soul what you’re doing, committing a genocide’. Then ran off the tube before I could answer. Rest of the tube must have thought I was committing genocide somewhere. Thing is - I rarely speak about Israel unless others bring it up. A glance at my show will show almost no references to Israel in the titles. I’m now imagining how proud he must feel of himself. He’ll be telling his friends how he ‘got’ me. I wish I could have asked why. I think WE know why. But why does HE think?
